The Grand Prize winner for the Animation Division, The House of Small Cubes, was a captivating dialogue-less short. People who were about to walk past eventually gathered in front of the screen to watch it.
There were no outstanding long animation works for 2008. But the list of recommended works included Code Geass R2 and Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei.
The Sky Crawlers was a recommended work!
Inuyasha was a recommended work, while Piano no Mori was the Grand Prize winner for the Manga Division.
