I do think that there are many people who aren't honest with themselves. I don't mean like, coming clean with your feelings. I mean something like, doing things just because it's the socially accepted sense of "good". Say for example, can you honestly feel compassion for an old folk whom you've met for the first time at an old folks' home? (If you're the kind of people who are super emotional, then please don't answer this question.) I don't. There are many other examples, but they're hard to explain. Maybe I'm wrong, because I probably stand on the extreme side of the spectrum. To me, 不喜欢就是不喜欢, and that's that.
One more thing: I do not believe that there's a "true" religion. There is no 正宗 Buddhism, because every other Buddhism claims that it's 正宗. Buddhism originated in some part of the world and was spread to many other parts of the world. From then on, no one religion that was born from Buddhism can claim it's 正宗, because many things, including religion, are interpreted to your liking and are used to support your own thinking. Agree? Disagree? Anyhow, it's my own thinking.
Something I'm curious about: Are idiots a fine line away from geniuses? How do you know if the IQ scale wasn't a finite one? [Finite i.e. 1,2,3,4,...,200 and it goes back to 1.] Relativity - how wide is its scope of application?
新年快乐!
